The New Equiptment and Examview/CPS?

How are we all doing with the Examview/CPS and making it work with our new equipment? I know you all might find this hard to believe, but you have far surpassed expectations when it comes to Examview. I think a big part of our success with the software, and the interest, as well as the persistence we have shown toward it, is the wonderful equipment we have that allows us to work so effectively with it. We are all getting CPS Systems for our classrooms as a result of our dedication and hard work. You guys are doing fantastic!

Jane came in the classroom and showed me how to use the clickers. We did a reading test and it went great. The kids loved it and it didn't take that long. I don't know how to use Exam View though.

Well...Laurie, Jane, and I presented at the School Board Meeting. We used the video on our cameras to record our students Read, Score, and Justifying. We used our data projector to show it. :)

The technology is fabulous. I have discovery streaming from GVSU. The video clips are fantastic and I can use little clips as well as full video. I am using them for science and love it.
The kids also like to use the clicker system.

Gina, Jane and I presented at the board meeting. We used the video from our HP camera to video the kids working in read, score, and justify groups. We loaded it on our computer and then presented using the projector. The board really appreciated having the "real" thing to show them. The presentation was very successful.

I have not used the clicker system yet but I am excited to do so. It will save us so much work. As for the rest of the equipment...I thank the original grant team every day for this wonderful gift.

I have not used the clicker system either, but look forward to it! I am having so much fun with the new equipment. I have used the data projector quite a bit and made movies with the movie making software on the computer. This is so beneficial to the students.

My last one was just testing because of some difficulty getting in.

As far as Examview, I am so excited to use it. I have two tests typed in, a common assessment for the end of the trimester, and also a Chapter 2 test. The kids and I are so excited to use it. They love the clickers, and I love the idea of such quick feedback!!! I have used my overhead projection system during this month and am becoming more comfortable with it too. As you can tell, I need to get better with photography. I am having fun trying.

I am thrilled with Examview, but this is about the 5th try for blogging. I am keeping it short this time.

Examview is vonderbul(my fun way of saying wonderful!) Science test data for both of my classes in now at my fingertips. Everything gets averaged right along. Students get their results immeadiately. I found some things I needed to spend more time on, too. Some of the students need to improve their inputing of answers with the clicking devices, but that too will come.
I really want to use the CPS, but I'm not quite sure how to transfer data to Excel yet. It has a more appealing feedback feature that I think would be very valuable to the students. I'm geeked.

Our fifth grade science team met to compile a first trimester common assessment on ExamView. We also included questions that we wrote. All of the questions met the MI GLCEs. I haven't used the clickers yet, but I'm looking forward to having Julie give me a lesson on how to use them with my two science classes.

Hey, sorry I'm a bonehead and forgot to post. We have been working on Mammal vs. Reptile powerpoints and both classes are having a blast. They are also trying to complete their second typed paper for the trimester. They have come so far with their computer usage this year. Marc

My students have used the clicker system quite a bit and they love it! However, I was finding that the average scores on assessments were lower than I expected them to be. So, I started using the teacher-led option instead of the student-led option. This way students enter one answer at a time. The results have been more accurate, and I am using the clicker system more often.

Today is my first day blogging! My computer hasn't cooperated with me in the past, but not it seems to be working - yeah! I have used the clicker system three times now - with the help of Jane and Laurie. I'm not sure how to use it on my own, but with their assistance, can handle it. The students have completed one reading test, and the common assessments for social studies and science. The students think it's pretty cool, as do I.
